Advice given to a race car driver during a pit stop.
THE CONSCIOUS CAREER STOPOVER

Pause,
to move forward.

Pit Stop® is a career assessment for people who feel they need clarity about the next stage of their career— whether by choice or by necessity. For over twenty years, we’ve been supporting professionals and executives on this journey.

THREE PATHS, ONE GOAL

Perhaps you will recognize yourself here.

Situation 1

You’ve been laid off.

Sometimes a layoff is expected; sometimes it comes out of the blue. The last thing you need right now is to rush into anything — you deserve a thorough assessment of your situation before jumping at the next job that comes along. Pit Stop® helps you take the time to sort things out: What went right, what’s next, and what are your real options.

Situation 2

Successful on the outside. Somewhere else on the inside.

You are established, competent, and know your field. And yet, for months now, you’ve been asking yourself the same question: Will I keep doing this for another fifteen years? Pit Stop® is the discreet space where you can seriously answer that question — with someone who doesn’t coach, but advises. On equal footing, with no pressure to quit.

Situation 3

You’re returning to work.

Whether after a career break, time spent with family, or a health-related hiatus: Getting back into the workforce is rarely a step backward. Pit Stop® helps you ask the right follow-up question—not “Where can I find a job again?” but “What role fits the person I am today?”

CAREER CHECK

Seven questions, five minutes.

An initial, honest assessment of where you stand. Anonymous, no login required, no obligation.

Here's how Pit Stop® works

It's not about the speed of the change. It's about the right direction.

Black-and-white checkered flag

Pit Stop® follows a proven three-step process—the same one we’ve been using to support companies for over twenty years. Assess your current situation, map out your options, and move forward. The end result isn’t just a new job, but the ability to take the next step.

Taking Stock

What has worked so far — and what has not? We take your career path, your motivations, and your current situation as seriously as you deserve. No stereotypes, no one-size-fits-all approaches — just a genuine conversation.

Options Map

What realistic paths are open to you? We help you see options beyond the obvious next job—including those you haven’t even considered yet.

Moving Forward

You shouldn’t just know where you’re going—you should also know how to get there. An updated resume, a refined profile, knowledge of the application process, and access to the hidden job market. We empower you to actually take your next career step.

THREE FORMATS

We’ll work with you to determine which package is right for you.

A typical Pit Stop® lasts six to twelve weeks, at a pace that fits your situation. The final choice of package is made during a free initial consultation — not with a click.

PARTNER & CO-FOUNDER

“The most important career decisions are rarely made well under time pressure. When you work with me, you won’t get a textbook approach, but rather honest, open discussion—with someone who has been thinking through exactly these questions with people like you for two decades.”

Profile

Markus Schluchter

PARTNER & CO-FOUNDER

My Initial and further professional education were in business economy and IT-Business Management in Basel and Zürich with additional qualifications as EFQM-Assessor in Belgium and as Systemic Coach in Germany.

Eight years as Senior Executive and co-owner of an international IT-company were followed by 9 years as Management Consultant for Gsponer Group International, a Swiss-based international management consultancy. I supported large corporations and SME’s mainly in the services industry, in manufacturing and trade, finance and life sciences. The principal focus was on strategy-development and implementation, potential and change management, leadership development and optimizing sales. I gained profound insights into a wide scope of organisations and corporate cultures and learned what makes people and their organisations successful.

In 2007 I decided to concentrate more on the individual person. As managing executive of a Swiss national outplacement company I contributed to developing the enterprise while at the same time I successfully supported more than 450 personalities of all management levels in their professional reorientation either within an outplacement mandate or within executive coaching. Towards the end of 2013 I stepped into self-employment.

I very much enjoy the diversity of our clients which I am allowed to accompany, while at home my three almost teenage daughters make sure, that every single day is full of surprises, challenges and opportunities to learn.

“I’m interested in what lies behind the question, not just the question itself. A good career decision is always one that fits the person you are today—not the résumé you’ve written so far.”

Profile

Dr. Holger Schimanke

Partner

Post-doctoral scientist from Heidelberg, Diploma Coach SCA & managerial mentor eFA, Zurich.

15 years international managing experience in three of the top 30 Swiss companies : After three years of laboratory management in research & development at Clariant in Frankfurt, I moved to Strategic Marketing at the Headquarters in Basel in 2000, to develop the market of chemicals for the textile & paper industry. With this business expertise I took on the challenge to manage Corporate Communications for the financial market in close cooperation with Clariant’s CEO and CFO in 2001.

7 years of several restructurings, crisis and management changes qualified me as an established communications consultant for executives. After taking over the management of a business line, I changed companies and was able to expand my industry knowledge both at Sonova and Oerlikon as Head of Communications & PR during four years. In 2013 I decided to step into self-employment and to focus on working increasingly with and for people.

I apply all these years of experience as a coach, trainer and consultant at Schluchter, Licci & Partner AG as a Senior Consultant/Partner for outplacement, career management and coaching since 2015.

To bring people a step further every day and individually encourage them with the right impulse to make a change - that is my incentive and joy.
